Spices? It's Red Chile peppers. This is New Mexico, not China or India.

Their hours are posted right here on Google maps !

No it's not sorry
Friendly staff and delicious food! I order a burrito banado and it's very good! The red chile was flavorful!
What a fantastic experience. I’ve heard people talking about Chopes for the last ten years and never took the time to check it out. There are plenty of TexMex/Mexican restaurants to choose from in the area. Why take the time to go to La Mesa? Well, take the time. If your of my frame of mind, get the Rellenos and enjoy a great meal. Plenty on the menu to choose from, but these were the best I’ve ever had, Seriously!
This place has great Mexican food and the service was great. The waitress was attentive and there was no wait time. This is handicap accessible
Pretty good food. Better than a lot of restaurants in the area. $1.00 Tacos on Tuesday. Super busy and crowded for taco Tuesday be prepared to wait up to an hour to be seated.
The chili rellenos are excellent! Some of the best I've ever had. My wife liked her chicken burrito as well. You can't beat the price either Three rellenos, a burrito and a BEER, for about what two burgers at McDonald's would cost. There was a big party at another table but we still got good service. It is definitely worth the drive. We will be back.
Bikers bar the atmosphere is awesome. The service is great.
Chopes is at least as good as the last time I made it out there 20 years ago. Great service, great food, great people.
Family owned restaurant serving great, New Mexican food.
Delish! Everything here is so authentic! Their green chili has some bite to it and the enchalada are wonderful. Not a big fan of their rice and beans but their chips are great and their salsa is super spicy!
Outstanding as always. Best mexican food, chile here in La Mesilla NM. Excellent service. Thank you!!!
A classic not to be missed. Get there early as even mid week lunch fills up quickly. It doesn't get any more New Mexican than this.
Food was great. Was told I had to check this place out for the rellenos and some New Mexico mexican food. It did not disappoint, loved the spice it all had. Wish I could of bought some of the salsa to take back to VA with me.
Always great food quality. The standard for small town friendliness and value.
An old bar established in 1909 a must-see for those who like dive bars although I'm not sure this is really a dive bar but it is mostly a locals bar where you can talk to some really cool local people and have very good drinks. I'll be back, nice to meet you Sonny.
When they decide to be open, it's great. But you really never know when it's open...
Great place too eat authentic New Mexican food.
Incredible food! There are two buildings for this restaurant. One is a bar, and the other is a full-on restaurant. You can order food at either I think. At least. That way. We were very impressed with a service. The chili rellenos and the gorditas were amazing! The green chili is excellent oh, even better in August and September when it's in season. This is a must stop!
The bar and the restaurant are separate in different buildings on the property. The bar is great! Pretty small but the service is awesome and a lot of great people having a good time. The restaurant isn't bad. The food is good but the service was poor. I think they were understaffed or something.
Love to come here and do homework. Great vibes
The food is well flavored, portions are just right. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in the cafe
Always amazing. Dont miss out on the rellenos!! Hope you like spicey!
This is an oasis destination restaurant in an out of the way location. Everyone in Las Cruces said we should stop there when we said we were going to El Paso via highway 28. We stopped there to have lunch. For me, I found the food good but not great. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. Service was very good.
The main restaurant is very popular!
The best Tacos I have ever eaten. My husband has always raved about this place. But this was my first time eating here. My husband ordered Chile RellenosI tasted a little of his.It was Awesome.PERFECTLY SEASONED.This is a place where the locals frequent. But if you are visiting or passing through the area, it is worth stopping by for Lunch and or dinner. We will certainly be back next time we're in townWe live in the Phoenix Arizona area.I highly recommend this place.
A bit of a wait bit well worth it. I ordered the nacho supreme and it is amazing. Packed with flavor and homemade cooking!
The best New Mexican food. I try to go here everytime I'm in the area. The wait can be 45 minutes or more on weekend evenings but it's worth the wait.
The young gentleman that was my server was awesome. I opened up the plates in the parking lot to make sure one burger was plain. I get to my burger, TRY to pick it up and it falls, I open it up and that's the picture you see. I didn't go back in because it took so long to pay the bill because only Lupe can take payments. Doesn't seem very efficient. Plus Lupe is not very welcoming. Will def not return here.
I came here again after 10 years, and the food isn't the same as it use to be. The service was okay but average. I ordered the 3 tacos with ground beef. The beans were good but the Spanish rice was not. Would I come here? Maybe....
A classic Mexican food eatery. Beautiful drive through pecan orchards to get there from Las Cruces.
Food was awesome as always.. taco Tuesday they have $1 Tacos.
Good spot. Friendly service. Chile Verde was excellent.
Neat historical location. Great mexican food. The salsa and chips was good and spicy. Green chili enchilada was the highlight. The beer selection is very limited, especially if you want something more than the average american pilsner or equivalent. As mentioned in a lot of reviews, the service is fairly slow.
Good food and atmosphere. Nice little drive up Highway 28 through Stahmann Farms to get here. The only downfalls are no guacamole and cabbage is used instead of lettuce. Chopes bar is very very popular with the biker community. Droves and droves of bikes cruise by my mom's house each and every weekend just to come to Chopes bar and restaurant
Great food. Would rate it 5 stars but the chile relleno had a lot of seeds plus took quite a while to get sopaipillas. Servers are very polite. Prices are fair for the yummy food.
